To guide and mentor children ages 6–18 in a safe, faith-centered environment where they grow in character, confidence, and life skills. Through positive mentorship, community engagement, and meaningful relationships, we provide every young person with the encouragement, tools, and opportunities they need to discover their purpose and develop into strong, responsible individuals.
To raise a generation of confident, compassionate, and purpose-driven young leaders who positively impact their families, schools, and communities. We envision a world where every child — regardless of background or circumstance — has access to a caring mentor, a supportive village, and the faith-centered guidance needed to recognize their God-given potential and thrive.
Children explore friendship, kindness, teamwork, and basic life skills through fun, hands-on activities in a safe, nurturing, and faith-centered environment.
Pre-teens develop leadership, self-esteem, and communication skills while learning to make positive choices and build a strong foundation of values.
Teens receive focused mentorship in career readiness, college preparation, entrepreneurship, and community leadership to help them step confidently into their future.
My name is Doris V Ryder. I am a wife and a proud mother of four children, including two stepdaughters, ages 26 and 21, and two biological sons, ages 20 and 15, both of whom are on the autism spectrum. I hold degrees in Psychology and Organizational Leadership and have proudly served with the New York City Police Department for over 21 years as an Investigative Detective.
In August 2022, I founded Planting of Seeds Mentoring Program, LLC — inspired by my own journey as a mother raising children with special needs. I was blessed to have a strong and supportive village of mentors, therapists, educators, and community resources that played a vital role in my sons' development. This program was created to extend that same sense of support, guidance, and opportunity to other families in our community.
I am a Christian who actively attends church and serves as the Youth and Young Adult Leader at Greater Cathedral United Apostolic Ministries (GUAM).
Your generous donation helps us plant seeds of hope, confidence, and purpose in the lives of young people right here in our community. Every gift, no matter the size, directly funds programs, mentorship, and life-changing opportunities for our youth.
